0.1.3: Review agent work
Find what each agent is working on, choose a completed change to land, and clean up its finished workspace.
Use this when several agents have left work in one repository and you need to
decide what to land or remove. Update with cargo install zit --version 0.1.3 --locked.
1. See every task in one place
From your repository, run:
git zit init # needed once; starts current at HEAD
git zit status
You get each Zit workspace and registered Git worktree, its task, changed-file
and line counts, and separate merge and cleanup assessments. Read the reason
under each assessment before choosing an action.
For an ordinary agent branch, give the task a useful label. Replace
agent-pricing with your branch name:
git config branch.agent-pricing.zit-task "Fix discount rounding"
git config branch.agent-pricing.zit-agent codex
git zit status
2. Land one finished task
When a managed workspace says merge: blocked because it has unrecorded edits,
wait for its agent to finish, then record it. Use the workspace ID from status:
git zit record --workspace WORKSPACE_ID
Use the printed change ID to review and land that work:
git zit show CHANGE_ID
git zit accept --dry-run CHANGE_ID
git zit accept CHANGE_ID
The preview names checks still needed; acceptance runs the required checks on
the combined state before landing. If it rejects the change, follow its reason.
For an already-committed ordinary Git worktree, use its branch name instead of
CHANGE_ID and skip the record step.
3. Reclaim a finished workspace
git zit status
For a managed workspace whose owner has finished and whose cleanup assessment
is ready, remove that workspace by its ID:
git zit dispose WORKSPACE_ID
Its recorded change stays in the graph. If cleanup says blocked, review or
unknown, resolve the stated reason first. Ordinary Git worktrees require a
manual check of agent activity and ignored files before removal with Git.
See the status reference for assessment details, or read the 0.1.3 release notes.
